History
The seigneury of Molbec dates back to Charlemagne. A seigneur is said to have accompanied William the Conqueror to Hasting in 1066. In 1793, a seigneur who was a member of the Norman Chouans was appointed captain of the legion fighting against the French Revolution. These Cotentin beaches were the scene of the Allied landings.
